Setting Your Dental Intentions
Do you enjoy yoga? If you do, you know that one phrase used often at the beginning of classes is to “set your intentions.” This phrase is repeated each class to help you get into the right mindset for the practice you are about to begin. Setting your intentions involves thinking about what you want to get out of the next hour of your yoga class. It’s about knowing what your body needs and making a goal or intention to do just that. An example of a set intention for yoga might be to focus more on your breathing.
There is such a great parallel we can take from yoga practice and apply it to our lives, and even our dental care. When you set dental intentions you are essentially envisioning what your dental goals should be. Do you have a vision for your dental health? Have you discussed your dental intentions and goals with your family? Have you discussed them with your dentist?
If you’re struggling with your daily routines of dental care, it may be time to look for some advice. You may possibly be dissatisfied with your overall appearance of your teeth. You also might be experiencing some pain or discomfort. Are you continuing to just go through the motions, carrying your dissatisfaction around with you? It may be time to set new intentions for your dental care.
