Don't Let Your Dental Coverage Go To Waste

It is almost hard to believe, but 2020 is winding down. For most of us, we are all thankful that this crazy year will soon be behind us! Yet, as the year comes to a close, you must keep in mind that many things wrap up at year’s end.

Most insurance policies follow the calendar year. Whether you started your insurance on January 01 or not, it will generally run through December 31 of that same year. Throughout a calendar year, people with dental insurance will have certain coverage that will renew each year. Most dental insurance policies provide benefits that cover dental care within an allotted amount per person. It will be vital to consult your own insurance plan to make sure you know what your family’s insurance covers. Most people have $1,000 - $1,500 per person that will be applied towards two dental cleanings per year. Most coverage also offers 50% - 80% coverage on dental work procedures, including fillings, bridges, and crowns.

What you need to know is that your dental insurance does not carry over into a new year. Whatever allotment you have not used will simply be erased, and your policy will start anew with the new year. With less than two months left in 2020, now is the perfect time to make a dental appointment to use your dental benefits. You still have plenty of time to visit the dentist for a regular appointment. However, if you know that you need any type of dental work, do not put it off another day. There is a limited amount of time during the next two months for our practice to work in appointments for patients who require extensive care. Many procedures will require multiple visits to our practice, and you want to make sure you have all of your dental work completed before a new year begins and your insurance coverage starts over.

At Montevallo Family Dentistry, we encourage you to call our practice and make any necessary dental appointments for yourself or your family. Don’t let your dental coverage go to waste! You have paid in plenty of hard-earned money into monthly premiums, and you don’t want to waste your money. The sooner you call us, the quicker we can set up appointments for you.
